The esky in one hand. The tackle bag in the other. The rod under your arm, the net hooked on a finger, and the car still open behind you because you couldn't carry the lot in one go. Then you get down to the bank, put the bag on the wet ground, and it falls over.
This carries all of it. Once.
The bottom half is a proper insulated cooler. Foil-lined, 30 by 20 by 20 centimetres, and it drops open on a full zip so you can see everything at once instead of digging past the drinks to find the sandwiches. Your food and your drink go here and stay cold.
The top half is a tackle compartment sized to take four flat trays, so your lures stay sorted between trips instead of ending up in one loose pile at the bottom of a bag. Across the front of it runs a MOLLE webbing panel — pliers, grippers and line snips clip to the outside where you can reach them with wet hands, which is the only time you ever need them.
A rod holder runs down the side with an elastic retainer at the top. Rod goes in, both hands come free, and you walk in once.
Underneath is a moulded hard base standing on four rubber feet. Set it down on a wet deck, a boat ramp or mud and it stands up and stays out of it. That is the part most bags in this category simply do not have, and it is the reason most of them end up soaked.
There is a second insulated pocket on the side with a drawstring top for a bottle — a cold drink you can reach without opening the main cooler and letting the cold out. A zip pocket on the other side, a reflective strip across the front for the walk back at dusk, padded adjustable straps and a grab handle for lifting it into the ute.
